Anyone know why an early 55 hood wouldn't fit on a '78 model? Can it be modified?

And anyone know this 66FJ45wagon guy? If not I'll be sure to try to get him at least word of the FJ45 "scene" here on the PBB if not the FJ45 run etc etc!
