cage looks really good, clean.
![]() not so sure on the way its attached to the fender well though in the rear. dont think that would hold up at all. seems like it needs more bracing/distribution if your gonna attach it to sheet metal body.

. I think an 8 point cage, with 6 points attached to the frame and the roof still on should hold up just fine.

Got the B and D pillars in the 4runner. The D's were kind of a pain, getting them to clear the passenger side catch all compartment and the rear most body mount bolts. Not quite as tight as Scott would of liked them but, I think he is nuts tons of strength and super clean.
Now comes the fun!!!! Hope the next pics are of the dash pad installed not a super trick sheet metal flat dash. |

Man that came out great...I am not looking forward to yanking the interior out of the Durango, but after seeing the result I am a little more motivated!

I'm glad Nate was a Yota tech for many years , because there was NO WAY I was taking that dash out.

Leather seats in a rock crawler??? Pass the Grey Poupon!
![]() That cage really looks tits! I agree. It really does appear so clean as to have been a factory option. Maybe you guys should send some pictures off to Toyota to give their engineers an idea of what the TRD package really should consist of.

Impressive work. Leather is great in the woods since it's much easier to clean

OK so I guess I will be the one to say it. While the cage does look killer, I see absolutley no triangulation. No X's in the Halo hoop, and none at the B, C, or D pillars. It looks unfinished to me. Thats being said...subscribed.

Only a matter of time
Honestly, until my kids get older this is going to be a pretty mellow off-roader. At this time I am not interested in putting two car seats, and kids through a jungle gym of tubes and harnesses. As my kids grow and the 4runner gets beat up I am sure we'll cut the thing up add some race seats, harnesses and add all the triangulation and gussets necessary for what is going to be done with the rig.
Besides for now with the roof still intact, full frame tied into the cage, I'm very confident the it is plenty stout. (For now)!!!! |
