is it flat across the bottom or does it drop down like a stock case? could it be made to be clockable?.

very cool though. looks as though you manufactured new center sections on the case, reused the rear protion by just rotating it upside down, and reused the output piece as well.

question though, wouldnt it be cheaper to just retube your HP60/44 to pass side drop, because i dont see where else you could need this, unless you are stuck with the stop front suspension, ie, IFS etc. assuming you will need the adapter to run the minicase either way, it seems most cost effectice to just go pass side drop.

i read further, looks as though the gas tank on a new fj is in the way of running duals and pass side drop, still cheaper to just get a custom fuel cell???

its awesome either way, someone was bound to do it, i was thinking about trying to make a home made version the other day when i was stuck with a drivers drop axle and wanted minicases.

Callen

I would love to see FROR fab up some of their Xfer case mounts for these. That would be sweet!!!

I bet the FJ's I saw on Rubithon would have had a much easier time with a Lefty installed!

first thing that came to my mind was my 2wd taco, im pretty sure its fate has just been sealed. i had talked witha few people a while back and it was going to be expensive to do since i would more than likely have to use an altas with a adapter.

flip the DIY center plate and away you go. a quick look at the crossmember looks like you could flip it and it would still be mountable, if that doesnt work i doubt it will be long before hes got something.

Callen

Lefty has been designed with the clocking already in place. I have added some info on the clocking to our website as I have seen a few people wondering about it. I guess I was just so excited to tell the world about Lefty that I forgot to mention the clocking.

If your 2wd is an auto, we have an adapter that will bolt this tcase right up when you're ready. I don't have it up on the website yet, but there are a couple of them running around out there. I'll be working to get some more info up on the site over the next few weeks.

Cool shit jim, I guess I'll have to try harder to break the chain case so I'll have an excuse to get this on the taco.

They are just like the 4:1, 4.7:1, or 5:1 gears we have been selling for years, just a different ratio. Takes a little bit more grinding to make them clear, but the housing is still plenty thick enough to be sound. The low range gear is just big enough that you actually need to clearance the end of the shifter just a bit or you can "feel" the teeth in the lever while you are in low range. That is the only significant difference I have seen.

I have had a set in my automatic 4Runner since May. It is the one we had at Rubithon this past summer... Worked beautifully!

We have actually been selling these gears for a few months now. Just haven't updated the site...Oh I just did!

Would you like a set?

its a manual, plan on going to a w59 bell housing, w56, toy reduction, inchworm lefty.

before the only real options i had in the left hand drop woudl require at minimum 1 adpater to a flipped 300 or atlas or stakk. lots of money. a geared lefty isnt that bad of a deal. im sure it would be a little cheaper if i didnt need the taco adapter too.

any plans to sell just the "rotation" plate?
