Post motor swap

Have 96 Tacoma4x4 2.7 6'' lift 35x12.5x15. Want to put 3.4 6 cyl in. Has any body done this.I was told wireing harness comp and transfurcase was all i needed to swap out.

I have 1996 Tacoma 2.7 4 cyl. 6'' lift with35x12.5x15. aftre i lifted the truck and bigger tires i need more power.I am looking at putting a 3.4 6cyl in. has any body done this.I have a motor out of a 04 tacoma 4x4. I was told i needed to replace wireing harness,computer.and transfur case. Is there anything else that might slow me down with this project.

I would imagine you would need the computer out the new truck. For the wires since its a 4 to 6 cylinder then yes you would need to change it out. You might want to try changing out the gears in your axles first though. Cheaper to do. Also, is your a 5spd or auto? I would try some 5.29s though before I did an engine swap.

Tranny, transfer case, wiring harness, ECO, forward exhaust system and possibly the emmisions.
