3.4 hydro assist

my 3.4 may not be in a taco but i figured you guys could help me out. Getting ready to do hydro assist with a 1.5 ram on my 82 toy with the 3.4. I have herd horror stories of this ps pump not liking hydro assist and people lunching them every 1k miles or so. Has anyone had any success with this pump and hydro assist? Im trying to keep my truck road friendly so i want to reduce the lag time of the ram as much as possable. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i run a PSC ram and it lags on quick turns w/ my setup (filter/ cooler setup and extended reservoir). Hauling ass thru the trees is a bit scarry due to the lag time imo. u wont have a problem if you drive slow.

I've been running a 1.5" X 8" cylinder with a stock pump for 3 or 4 years now no problem. I did however add some capacity to the tiny stock reservoir and a cooler.

Mr.Dickfoster, Do you have pic of your set up. I'm installing my hydro assist on Dana 44 also. I have 1.5"X8". I need someone else to copy. I have seen others here but i need to decide where to put the ram.

I have a 3.4 in my `87 runner (still in progress). I had hydro setup on the 22re with a stock pump Not really any better than stock. I have done a few Trail gear hydro's for a few guys. I could tell I needed a pump. PSC makes a pump for the 3.4. I bought but it's not in yet. Not much help but just some info.

are you guys using the 8'' stroke ram with a toyota ifs box?

i added the thin in line cooler from DERALE, it tucked up behind the grill, only cost $30 at summit racing...erikB uses the same
