chromo D44 shafts

what chromo shafts are people runnin in there D44 fronts. i have looked at some charts, not sure if there accurate, but the yukons are only rated at 800lbs of force more than the stock shafts. i think it was 5000lb/ft at 35 degrees stock and 5800lb/ft at the same degree for 4340 yukon shafts. also this is going in my waggy front end and was wondering if yukon shafts are strong enough to justify the cost.

I ordered some Alloy USA chromo's last week (broke my stock shafts on 35's). I went to Parts Mike, he might have been pimpin' his own stuff, but stated he had better experience with Alloy USA. He also stated both are made in India. He also said 35's on stock shafts would only buy time, and chromo should be ok...Just regurgitating his info.

Alloy USA shafts and joints. The owner is a member here on pirate and handles his business to keep his customers happy. I got mine from them direct, they took care of me. http://www.drivetrainoutlet.com/Products-U_Joints.html They also own Round Eyes. http://www.roundeyes.com/ Look for them here on the board.

I run Warns with CTMs. I would recommend Schaffer's Off Road. They got me my CTMs in a day!! I would not recommend PORC. They had shipping issues that delayed delievery for weeks!!!!

Tim

P.S. I've been running them for 3 years with no issues on 37s.

Time for me to upgrade also. Just more money that I get to spend that I don't have!

Warn's but remember it was a Ford axle and I think they only do some Ford apps. Not real %100 sure, maybe some heeps too.

I just checked they have a lot of chevy, ford and jeep apps covered including the binder scouts. Also the waggys that a lot of folks are running.

http://www.warn.com/truck/axles/heavyduty_axles.shtml

Also running CTM's. So far so good.

I'm running Alloy USA shafts and Yukon joints in my 44. So far so god. I got them through Roundeyes here on the board. Great service from both Roundeyes and Alloy USA, had my shafts in 2 weeks to my door.(they are all cut to length after the order)

Unless you are running a stock length axle Alloy has axles pre-made for 80's Waggy D44's

Really? When I bought them they had no pre made lengths, although I got one of the first sets of available d44 shafts.

Oh btw my axles are stock length, just not from the same vehical!

No worries. Thats why I think 2 weeks from order to doorstep was great. Some vendors can't get parts in stock to you in 2 weeks.
Brian how much 2" tube did you use for sleeving your cage? One day I'll get around to installing it.

To tell you the truth, I think I bought like 5 feet just to be safe and ended up with 3 1/2 feet left over. You can have the rest of mine, I'm pretty sure I have enough for you. I used 5 sleeves total, 2 for the bottom pieces on the center hoop and 3 up on the roof area. Lets see, 6 or 7" each comes to 30" total you should need. I'll get back to you and let you know how much I have left over.

I'm running Warn outers and Dutchman inners in my Dana 44 with Longfield super joints. Have had no failures yet and running 36" Swampers. Now that I have a V-8 Ill be sure to see how good they really are! Dutchman can build shafts to any length you want and they are local for me, thats why I went with them. They did quality work and I am very pleased with them.
