Lift kit for a 99 Taco

Well, I've been looking at some lift kits but all I can find is 3", 5" and a 6". The weird thing is going from a 3" to a 5" requires a whole new subframe which throws the cost up to like another $800-1200. I don't want a body lift, and I've found 3" suspension lifts for around $350 but I can only run 32's. Is there anyway with that kit I can get that extra little bit to run 33's maybe? I was also looking at Toyo Open Country tires but I can't open the .pdf as my computer SLOWS down a ton with pdf's. I'll most likely be running Rock Crawler Extreme Type 152's (black with the street legal simulated beadlock)- http://www.ntwonline.com/acb/showdet...=1837&CATID=11

I want the 15x10 but don't know if those Toyo's come in 32's to fit that.

I'm only 16, and it's not going to be my rig for off-road but more of a all around truck but I wanted some looks, and some mild performance later.

Any help at all is VERY greatly appreciated

~Justin

Um ok? You want me to throw in some cuss words, couple racist slurs, maybe some slang? I'll definately do that next time mate.

I just wanted help as I'm new to this "type" of sport, I know ALOT about motorcycles and bicycles then probably 85% of the people on here.

Irrelevant.

When a suspension lift vendor lists what size tire can be fitted, they likely mean what size tire will never rub and therefore not lead to tons of calls from retarded asshat customers.

On my truck I had a 3" spacer lift with add-a-leaves in back for a couple of years, ran 33x12.50s on 15x10 wheels (3 5/8" backspacing), did some hammering and cutting until they didn't rub. Switched over to Donahoe coilovers set at the factory 2" of lift, still running the same size wheels and tires and only rub at full stuff while turning (so not very often).

With a 2 or 3" lift, 33x10.50s on 15x8s will fit the best, followed by 33x12.5s on 15x8s. The 15x10s will take more work and the backspacing will have to be correct, but it can be done. You will have to do some trimming and hammering, but that's the price to pay for a good tire size to ride height ratio.

If you don't want to cut or use the BFH, you should probably get the fuck out of here and only come back when you aren't afraid of "massaging" sheet metal.

I would slow your roll bud..........Tacoma_Kyle was being nice about it...others will rip you a new one for such a newbe/basic question....

This site is more for trail rigs and the hard core wheeler enthuses, not just basic info on lifts etc. for people’s Daily drives that won't see much of the trail.....

There are other webboards for that type of question..

Here is a little info to help you out.......

On my IFS Taco I love my set up....285-78-16 (33x11.5x16)Procomp Xterrains, Fabtech performance coilovers, an add a leaf, and Downey 1 1/2 inch lift shackles.

Just like SinisterTaco I had to do a little trimming in the rear and hammering in the front....that’s what you gotta do if you don't want to step up to the Drop down bracket style lift.....which suck anyway....just go SAS if your going to go with that type of lift...
