Tacoma Help

Ok so my girlfriend just bought a 96 2wd tacoma with a 3" fabtech lift kit and add leafs in the rear. However being a jeep guy I don't know much about toyota's so I was wanting to know if there anything we can do to make the ride not so stiff?

Would some new shocks front and rear help? or should I take the add leafs out and put a new leak pack in?

Any help would be great.

thx

Definitely ditch the add a leaf and go with a new spring pack.
As for the front, not sure what spring they Fabtech kit is using, or if they are just cranking down the torsion bars, but a new spring pack out back will soften up your ride a lot.

No torsion bars on the Tacoma.

Probably a spacer up front. Going back to stock or switching to a coilover will yield the softest ride.

Maybe you meant reducing the preload on the CO's ?

I beleive that the only Fagtech lift's made for the Tacoma were either drop bracket, or adjustable CO's. The previous owner may have stacked a spacer on top of the CO though .

Ditch the AAL, check the front CO's to see if they've got a spacer on top, and see how far they're cranked up. If they're cranked too high (more than 2.5") that will make the truck ride like a ton of shit.

I thought this was a hardcore 'wheelin board

It has a 3" fabtech with CO's and I'll check to see how high there turned up.

As far as being this thread not being "Hardcore" sorry man I was just looking for some quick answer's and I know that this board is the best, so thx for everyone's ideas.

Does anyone know which spring pack would be better?

Jeremy

Naw, just givin' some shit.

I ran OME's for about three years, 'wheeled the hell out of them and was very happy with how they performed. Some will tell you Deavers, and although pricey you can't go wrong with Alcans........Those (for the money) would more likely be seen on a rig that is on the trail quite a bit.

At least you don't have the drop bracket... so it's all good...

But those basic fabtech co's really blow... lose those for something better... SAW/Racerunner 2.0's and some Alcans out back... I run the Deavers... And like them alot... But the Alcans can be ordered with 1/2" more arch for the drivers side to compensate for the heavier drivers side... at no extra charge... the Deaver's will cost more... and you'll be charged extra if you want the drivers side to have more arch (custom required)... If you don't get the 1/2" extra for the drivers side... you'll be having to compensate increasing the pre-load on the drivers front coil... Unless you don't mind a drivers lean... then worry not...

Nice fingers... But they don't type fer shit...

First thing I saw coming over here was that Exodus Thread... thought I was in the twilight zone and was thrown back into TTORA zone...

Not that any of this shit matters to me... tech would be nice tho'

But the best tech... is on the trail... were I'll be mostly...

Example... last saturday Mike Wood blew a rod end thru his 3.4L block... we were being all techy trying to figure out what happened... I guess the hole in the side of the block answered the tech question of the day... yes we cleaned the trail up ( dirt tech )
