3.4 V6 Coolant temp sender location??

Trying to figure out why my temp gauge is not working on my 01 Tacoma. Gauge tested fine and the 2 wire sender located nect to the water neck on the intake tests ok...but I understand there are actually 2 sending units on this engine.....where is the other one??? Any help much appreciated......

Yes there are two. One for the ECU and one for the dash guage. IIRC, the other one is in the back of the intake area and is a one-wire version. I'd have to dig out my FSM for any more detail, but feel free too look up an online one in the mean time. Try the FAQ at the top of the forum.

There are TWO, just like Erik said

The one for the Gauge is located on the rear of the lower intake manifold next to one of the heater hose outlets and has a ONE wire connector.

The sensor for the ECU is located just to the LEFT of the UPPER RADIATOR HOSE housing, it is a two wire sensor.

This is the same on ALL 3.4l engines
