97 2rz stalling issues?
I have a 2rz swapped into a 90 p.u.. Occasionally it's been having some problems. If I wind the motor up and sidestep the clutch in low 1st, the motor cuts out till it gets close to idle the runs fine. No sputters or anything, just like someone hit the key then turned it back on. Hard one to troubleshoot as it's not consistant. Anyone heard of something similar or have any ideas?
I'm not ruleing out wiring issues as I did the swap myself. No idea if it has something in the computer that shuts things down at wide open in nuetral or? Something tied into the clutch safety switch? Pretty much lost where to start. ![]() Motor came from an automatic and doesn't tie into the computer other than the speed sensor input which is running off the 90 speedo.

May have made some progress. Finally threw a code for p1600, battery voltage ecm. Sure enough, 7.6 volts going to the hot lead on the computer. Found a nasty section of wire, down to one strand.
![]() Cut and soldered, seems happy so far. I'm thinking the insulation was scraped when the previous, previous owned smacked something wadding up the passenger fender. Then, the "non-corrosive" ice melt the city puts on the roads did the rest.
