If you ever gut that interior, I'm all over it like a fly on shit; I need some misc interior parts for my 4Runner, which is a damn twin to yours in everyway including the shitty fading paint!

Just realized you have a thread....
Shit is gay as fuck, are you and Booger Weldz colaborating on "how to" make a good build thread??? I want progress.... And if you are colaborating with the BW, no pictures of your "junk", twink shit, or anything of that nature. Can't wait to see it, and build your cage, and make fun of your SUV |

Sweet a bender! Bring it over well well mount it in the driveway!
Well, last night was busy. Everythings out. Broke 2 exhaust studs out of 3 on the down pipe. Fuel tank is out, the clutch was down to the rivets haha. Dual ultimates are built, fully blinged out. Tonight the tranny with the new clutch and all hydraulics, tranny is getting the 3.0 tailhousing, and I'm goong to get a crossmember fabbed up. It's game on from here on out.....5 weeks to mcr......

ok. . . .well, a little set back. as many of you know the tailhousing on the current 3.4L R150 is literally been destroyed and put back together with JB weld, so i decided to use the tailhousing from a 3.0L R150 that i have laying around. well, everything i researched told me it would swap right over no issues. well there are some issues, kinda big issues.
the main issues is that the output bearing outer diameter due to a different 5th gear. on the older R150 the bearing has an OD of 72mm while the newer R150 has a smaller 59mm to clear the 5th gear. since this is different so is the tail housing where the bearing sits in housing. so what im going to have to do because i already have the 3.0L adapter from marlin, and my 3.4L tail housing is destroyed. my solution is im going to have an adapter ring made tomorrow that is 72mm OD and 59mm ID and 19mm deep, that i can press into the 3.0L tail housing that will hold the smaller bearing. its free and will work well. ill take lots of pics showing exactly what im doing incase anyone else wants to do this same thing. soooo, other than that i got nothing done.

nice thinking on the bearing issue, should be perfect if its a nice and true fit.

did some work today. im still waiting on my bearing spacer so i tackled the brakes some. i dont know what the deal is but i have a 2 stud brake booster unlike everyones 4 stud ones. so we brought out the calipers again to measure everything. turns out that i can wallow out about 3mm of the holes on a 3/4 ton chevy master cylinder and it will slide right on. . . . kinda. . . . we also needed to cut down the plunger on the booster because the MC depth is about 11mm difference. once we had the plunger cut and rounded off all titties and the holes wallowed out it was a direct bolt on with zero pedal slop, should be dialed. also as far as brakes are concerned i pulled the ABS block out and unplugged the ABS controller. is there anything i need to do with those 4 pigtail plugs now? or just leave them? i know it doesnt sound like much, but it seriously took 4 hours to make all that happen.
tackling a project like this is pretty daunting compared to building a strictly trail rig. just finding enough space to run a 5"OD coilover through the engine bay without removing any of the needed items. . . . . oh, and Matt took pics. . . .so its up to him to post them up.

3rd gen runners and later model Taco's have 2 bolt masters. A 4 bolt master will swap in, which is what I did on my rig and Booger did on the Silverbullet.
Unplugging the ABS stuff should be all that you need to do. If the ABS light is still on, make sure you also unplug the ABS relay block near the actuator too and it should go out. |

heres the pictures of what we ended up doing with the brake setup...a comparison for those that aren't familiar with the difference.
1Ton Master cylinder (which is what the original plan was) ![]() ![]() 3/4 Ton Master cylinder (what he ended up using) ![]() ![]() besides wallowing out the master cylinder holes a bit to allow it to fit on the booster, this is all that was needed to be done to make it work. took out the stock adjuster, cut some thread off so that it would thread in the push rod all the way. also cut the round tip off till it was to the bolt pattern and beveled the sides to make it pointed again. ![]()

Worked a little thus evening. Got the spacer in the tail housing and clearanced it for the 5th gear. Sealed that all up. Also started on the clutch, got the pilot bearing pulled out....had to fully modify the puller.....also got the flywheel disc and pressure plate on then realized I'm missing 3 bellhousing bolts so I'll wait until tomorrow to get that shit done.
Matt has pics later or tomorrow
