I gota agree with Wilson. If your going to do a cell at least do one you can put a filler neck on and plumb your evap system into.

This sucks. I don't have enough money to gear this thing before the jambo. So looks like it's 4.10s welded for one trip (one really really easy, no box, no soup, straight through and home trip). It's going to suck driving there with 4.10s and 40s. This thing is going to barely trail worthy hahah. Oh well, I'll be there!

Smog was jsut one concern with teh cell. The others would be filling it on the road. I am ASSuming it will sit in the back luggage area, which means all of your gear will be piled on top of it, smelling of fuel and generally in the way when you want to "top off" before hitting the trail. Why not just get a new pump and run the ford tank? It's not worth it in the long run to sacrifice aspects of your build so you can make the jambo. In the end it will cost you more time and money. Take your time and do it right, it will be done when it's done and you will be happier because of it.

Damn you and your reason. How about this. I don't like the ford tank because there is no baffling. Plus I fucked up my tank already be welding in the Toyota sending unit stuff. BUT, I have another tank and a carb sending unit (no intank pump, just fuel gauge). What do you all think about me running that tank with the carb sending unit with a couple walbro pickups in the tank and running that summit online pump. It will look correct, have all the correct evap stuff and a filler neck in the correct place. Plus it will be better in off camber situations than the regular intank pump.
Ya?

Is there baffling in the other tank? Could always do quality foam or wiffle balls. My walboro's would suck the tank bone dry, but I had 4 of them. The reality for you is that you will be less likely to be running on fumes because you will top off before hitting the trail.

Just find the right tank. Mine is from a 94' F150 with the 5.8L. Ford pump works just fine even with my supercharger and no fuel upgrades. It fits PERFECTLY into the rig between the frame rails, but given how far back you moved the axle, you may have hosed yourself even on that tank.

i think im going to go with the carbed tank for sure. its exactly the same in every dimension as all the other EFI tanks everyone is using, ill just throw a couple walbros in there and run an inline pump and be tits. it will run in EVERY situation.
btw, i have some pics. . . . . .up in a few.

alright, here we go.
shitty pics. but you get the idea. here you can see the new frame. its 2x3x.180 box. i tied it in right infront of the vin number. everything farther forward was fucked up from the wreck. and the original frame was still about .75" out of square, we took care of it though. frame rails are 45" long, and are 29.5" between eachother. this is more than stock, but it will be fine. i made it just long enough to sneak in my M8000 once i cut some of the core support out. second pic is the fishplate im making. the inner piece will look nearly identical to this one, and there will be a bottom piece to tie it all together nicely. and yes, i know im retarded and cut out a VIN window for the drivers side too haha. you can see what happens to a PSC pump when you abuse it. . . . dont use shitty tools and follow the instructions. i have a new back plate on the way $20. thank god they dont make you buy a whole new one. and what is this? it was in the drivers side inner fender, and had nothing hooked to it. charcoal canister? my new york pulley. so far no a single piece of this kit of worked without mods except this pulley. finishing the fish plates tomorrow and beginning on the motor mounts. not reusing any of the original mounts. 2 of the 3 bolt holes on the drivers side block are blown out, so im going to have to find other holes to use for the motor mount over there. plus the stocker mounts are cast.

That canister was a vacuum reservoir for the ADD.

What York kit are you using?
I have the PNWF kit on my 3.4 and it took a lot of work to get the thing in. Space is one issue but the instructions and bracket weren't thought out well enough. The creator had a 4Runner with and auto and I have the 5 speed so I have less room. The bracket also wasn't square and did not allow for perfect alignment with proper belt tension. I've had it for over a year and it's all good now but when I spent 2 days installing everything and paying whatever I paid for it I was a little disappointed.
