you want your tunnel built? Get everything mounted and trailer it down.

Thats what I'm talking about, the pressure isn't real unless you set a deadline. I get more done that way.

Make sure that you have a working winch...... snow pack may be a problem since we will be there the first weekend that the area will be open.

I want to see how the boat sides come out. Never really thought about them until now
It makes me sad that you've built 2 sick rigs while my pile has been sitting in the garage in pieces

Thanks man, I got the idea and motivation for it after looking at Drewp's and Friggenxj's rigs I'm really liking how there turning out. I'm trying to figure out the best mtrl to use as the skid for them aluminum, steel or uhmw. Uhmw is spendy, same with steel, and I have sort of an idea for going aluminum but dunno how well it would hold up in the 1/4"-3/8" thick range.
I give my buddy shit a few times about getting his rig done saying I'll get two built before he finishes his. 85 xcab hp60 narrowed, 14 bolt, supra motor.

Hmmm, not sure how well aluminum would hold up either. Looks like your going to have to be the guinea pig
![]() Your buddies rig sounds a lot cooler than mine. For me school plus a rig two and a half hours away equals very slow progress. Fawk it, it'll be done someday

Aluminum is to soft. Put in at least one horizontal rectangular runner (same plane as the slider) that ties all of the braces together and plate it with some thinner steel. As it gets beat in you will still have the horizontal line to help keep form hung up as much.

Depends on the size of the unsupported areas.

I think max unsupported area would be like 7"x12" I just want to kinda stray away from adding a shit ton of weight. Already did with the 2x4. It was easily 200lbs.

At 7x12 I think you would be fine with 1/8", Lighter is better if you can get away with it. Since going to the light weight buggy it makes my tired old 22re feel all spunky like. I used a lot of 1/8 and 3/16 were before I would have have just used 1/4 because bigger is better, to try to stay light. Lighter rig will be easier on parts so you can beat on it harder.
