how's the 7mgte been for you reliability wise?
I've had a couple friends who had that and the 7mge in Cressidas and Supras and have always had issues with the head-block seal mostly resulting in oil weeping out the side of the block.

thanks dude its been pretty good. I had an issue with the air flow meter, but that was caused out of my own ignorence. the only other issue i had was that three of the coil packs fried all at the same time one day.... really strange. luckily i had a spare set, replaced them and been fine since then. Now i have a new issue though, its sputtering, backfiring and has a general loss of power in low rpms. Im tinking i have water in my fuel or the timing is screwed up somehow, not sure. i have to tear into the front of the engine to replace the front main seal so i will double check timing and all that shit then. othe than that front main suddenly blowing out, it has never really leaked any oil |

Alright guys, its been quite a while since an update so here it is. Since our event in july I have done some work to it. No cool fab stuff, mostly maintainence, but its gotta get done too!
I had to take apart the front of the engine to replace the front main seal, so while it was apart i just replaced all the seals. cams, front main, oil pump seal, and valve covers. while it was all apart I got my new TG full hydro "TC" style steering pump installed too. Also cleaned up the engine and painted the valve covers black. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The 4runner was also running pretty shitty so I decided to check if the timing was right. somehow it was off by about 20 degrees. idk how that happened but i got it adjusted right and now it runs better than ever! it frickin rips when the turbo spools up at about 3000 rpm. I need to get some video of it rippin across some open trail. We went wheelin today and the steering pump made a huge difference. Deffinately worth the money spent on it

I really like where the power steering pump is located! On my 2RZ its on the drivers side of the head which means my reservoir has to be a bit higher for the gravity feed to work. Nice job, lets see some video of this thing rippin!
