Two months? Did ya have to make your own tube? Exo's are gay, and your a-pillar sucks

Edit: Fab work looks good though

Pretty good except for the windshield obstruction

Too bad its an exo....

If it were me, I would re-do the windshield portion. Cut out what you have and run a straight bar from side to side with an upside down V in the middle. I would also connect the a-pillar bar downward to the front of the slider area.

Doesn't look like it would offer much protection at all in a light flop or a rollover.

crumple zones are for economy cars not roll cages.

It looks like you have good tube crafting skills but there are some major design flaws in the windshield "V", A pillars, and rear corner areas. Think about the path the load will follow and look for areas where that load path deviates from vertical any more than it has to.

Lacks proper triangulation and doesn't look like the welds are complete. What's it made of?

first time ive seen that window idea. seen much much worse. just add some tube in the correct spots for strength and call it good.

dont listen to the exo haters, the internal cage serves its purpose but clogs up valuable space inside the cab. not to mention youve already built the exo and its your rig.

what more do you want for "light flop" protection?

I agree with others about the a pillar/tie into slider area. Neat design, the nice thing is; if you find the windshield bar blocks too much, it is pretty easy to cut and redo as needed.

I guess it's better than nothing...

But it kinda looks like you added a bunch of artistic weight to your truck. Very "southeast" style roof. Need to add some gussets/bracing IMO.

pros: your rear passengers won't hit there heads on the cage

It's unique!

your fenders will last

cons: as already stated; it needs some triangulation, primarily behind the driver and rear passengers to make it stout during a flop or it will wad up easily in my opinon. It's gettin there!

X2 on changing the windshield. And do you not drop your tailgate?

X4 good for a first try I guess. 2 months to build that? Wow. But its lacking in strength. Those bars across/covering the windshield won't help that much on a flop strength wise. Looks like it would shift and push the lower curves ov the center bars into the window easily. And like others stated, you have a good 4runner, you don't plan on opening the tailgate? Going to be a pain in the ass loading everything through the window opening all the time.

Some times exo'smake a rig. But this time looks like it takes away from it and lacks strength and function. Cut the windshield bars out and rebuild with a good cross brace. The rear can be modified easily for the tailgate.

The lacking "A" pillar will fail first tree it leans on. Fix that and get rid of the stuff on the windshield and it will work fine.
