If they are the same size, what are you going to gain? If they are bigger, is there enough of the stock valve seat to go bigger?

I used to work with a kid that had 454 parts in every one of his imaginary projects. It would have been hilarious if he hadn't been so annoying.

I believe a friend did it, along with a few other choice GM parts when he rebuilt his 22RE...

I dunno the specifics, but I can tell you it was one of the best running and strongest 22RE I've even driven.

There has to be more done to the engine, bigger valves are just part of building an engine. That would be like thinking by adding a header or cold intake it is going to make a big difference. You do all the trick stuff together, then you build a go fast engine when you stomp on the loud pedal!!!!

And in the end it is still a 22r/e engine. I've done the go fast goodies a couple of times, now all I care about is a solid and reliable engine. If I am too slow I just leave earlier.

This. My roomate dumped thousands of dollars in parts from LCE into a 22RE. Still a gutless turd. Don't be that guy.

Wasn't Desertoy excited as shit a few years back when he broke 100hp @ the wheels with some ridiculously expensive LC engine?

Sorry, but the power isn't even in the top five reasons I run a 22r. I understand if guys want to do some reliability upgrades to their mill, maybe some efficiency type shit, but the pony per dollar just isn't there.

Ended up talkin with ted from engine builder and just ordering a valve spring set. And for the smart asses: I didnt design this, I bought a motor that was in pieces and put it together. The motor has since been reinstalled and is running good.
