Stupid? Stock shackle nut size
I need to get some self locking nuts since the 3/8 flat bar i used for the front shackles is limiting the use of a lock washer for the upper bolt. So what size is it?

Take nut off (in home depot parking lot if nessecary)... go inside and find a bolt that'll thread into it, and buy some nylock nuts that size.
If I had the money, I'd bet $10 that Roger Brown knows the size. ![]() Oh, my expierence with self-locking nuts on shackles has not been good. Tried both all-metal and nylock nuts on the front shackles, and everything backs off. You'll have better luck cleaning them off really good and using the nut you already have with some thread locker like loctite.
