holy hell, very traumatic, i'd revmove that shit, weld in a nice piece of steel to mount the booster and clutch master too and the steering colum, then i'd make a nice stainless firewall to go along the front. you dont need any of those blinker switches and shit...............man another tip is to remove the paint where your going to weld it makes it much nicer...........i can wait to see this thing finshed..........i sure to hell hop you dont put wood floors in it and tie a milk crate down for a seat

STOP !!! NOW !!!
go cut that shit off and do it right. that is just wrong.. you get an A for effort but lets just chalk that up to a practice run. seriously, cut that shit off and try again. stop trying to rush it together for the jambo and take your time and get it right. you will learn more and improve your fab skills by not slappin it together. look at wilsons pedal setup and copy it. it is a very simple design that can be made from pre made tabs available from www.polyperformance.com send dave at poly a pic of wilsons pedals and tell him you need those tabs and a 3/4 x 3/4 heim. it will cost you under 20 bucks. then take your time and do it right |

i am glad everyone is here to help. so, i think i am cool on the pedal assembly. i am going to get a pedal assembly here from a race shop. the brake will have 2 master cylinders. will that work?
also, could someone post pics and or explain to me a decent way to fab up the steering column?

yes dual master will work great. the benifit to running that setup is that you still have good brakes when the engine dies since you don't run the vacuum booster.
for the steering it is really simple. get a piece of 3/4 rod ( either hollow or solid ) and weld on the stock toy ujoint down at the steering box. then put a heim joint at the dash bar and weld a tab on to hang the heim. order a steering wheel quick disconect from summit and put your steering wheel on. arron has pics of erics rig on his thread. |

I was thinking about this post on the way home from work. it is kinda like those people who call the 1-800-suicide hotline as a cry for help. they don't intend to really do it they just want help. maybe we need a 1-800-bootfab hotline for aspiring fabricators who are tempted to just slap their junk together.
