Post Fuel Question

I have a 22r engine and about three weeks ago I started haveing problems. I used the step on the pedal threee timers then start it in the morning. Now It turns over and over abnd over as Im stepping on the pedal and will finally start after about 15 seconds. Then I have to sit there and keep it at about 1500 or 1600 rpms for a while or it wont idle when I let go of the gas pedal. Then after i turn it off and try it again it does the same thing. Is it the carb?? Could it have to do with the fuel pump???

sounds like your choke is gummed up and not going to cold start mode when you press the accel pedal. Check for proper choke operation

You should probably check all your normal tune up stuff too. I used to wait until my truck did that kind of stuff, then I knew it was time for a tune up. Deposits on the distributor cap, spark plug gap has increased, fuel filter slightly plugged, the choke setting too, quite a few things can make it hard to start and run cold.
