here is a few pic's of my buggies, on my 1988 4Runner,, they are 23"s long,, and work great,Have had them for over a year now,, they drop off the frame about 8"s,, and although I have some hold downs, I really dont need them for on road driving,,

Dude! Those are some COOL pivoting shackles on that bad boy. Do you really not have problems with a 'vague' feeling in the back end of the truck - kind of like it wobbling to-&-fro all the live long day?

That's basically the idea with Orbit-Eyes, too: let the spring stay horizontal while the axle twist, instead of forcing those two into a bind. Flex-monster rigs have been using pivoting shackles like those for some time. I never thought they'd be stable enough to drive on pavement without a link setup, though.

Am I wrong about this, or is this a trail only rig <IMG SRC="smilies/question.gif" border="0">

Knew a guy that ran pivoting bocks. Worked well. I need an orbit eye up front of the pack to get my buggie to work right. I will try and post pix later.

I dont have any decient pic's of the shackles close up,, but they do relieve the main spring when twisted up,, the Runner is my daily driver,I do have a rear track bar off the top of the D-60, and the shackles are not noticeable on the road,, this is the 1st set we built,, we have also installed a set on my old 1979 Toyota,, which has double shackles and Ford Ranger rear springs,, and does not have a track bar,, but still no real noticable road handleing problems....
