It would have 60 type steering angle available. We can do them 30 spline, or 35 inners. Only real benefit is if youve got a built toy diff already. Otherwise, its less money to go 9" 35 spline, than toy 30 or 35 spline (assuming you have no diff parts). This is the exact reason we have 9's, not 8's in the Taco's axles.
Just proved it this weekend. Unless you cryo it then it'll just move up to the t-case. Either way, if you need 60 strength, you're better buying a 60 upfront.
when i rework my toy i plan on getting a front housing from brian, should i go ahead and get a 9in.built and run toy knuckles instead of the toy 8in?i was wanting to get the toy HP with an e-locker.gives me something to think about...

Please clarify: You're saying if one were start out with no axle parts what so ever, than the cost to have you build a complete front axle using your custom 9" center/60 outer housing would be cheaper than building a complete Toyota front axle w/ 30 spline axles? Is the Toy axle built with a Diamond housing or a stock housing? I'm mentally running #s and don't see how it adds up. I hope it's cheaper because a 9"/60 hybrid would be awwwsome!!

Sorry, a bit confusing. My hands dont type fast enough!
35 spline axle, with a 9" center vs, a 35spline with toy center, the 9 is a few hundred cheaper. Parts for 9's are less, and 35 spline is readily available. Just making a 35 spline toy ARB runs around 300 bucks.
But building a 30 spline toy axle with longs is a lot cheaper than a 9"/60.
As for housings, we dont, and wont use the stock housing to build an axle. We just steal stock balls from them!
Thanks for clearing that up. When all is done and said, how much do you think a complete 9"/60 axle would run? Assuming something like Detroit locker in a factory carrier w/stock 4.10 gears, mid-level quality knuckles, high-steer arms and shafts. Also including new wheel hubs and lockouts. $4K? A built up Toyota axle including 30 spline equipment and one of your housings is around $3K I think.

Couple things, factory carrier is a no go. Cant put 35 spline in a factory piece, bore of the case isnt large enough. With that, kind of no point to use old gears either. We only use Dedenbear inner/outers. I would call them top end, and stock low end. I cant think of a mid level...
So, if we use:
Strange Nodular case, daytona support, and billet 1350 yoke
4340 shafts, 35 spline inner/outer, with forged spicer joints
rockcrusher 6 lug hubs
4 piston calipers, vented rotors
Dedenbear inner/outer
35 spl warn lockout
35 spline detroit
etc,etc,etc
Looking right about 6300-6400 assembled. Toss an ARB in instead, and CTM, looking right at 7k. That is all new everything. Got sticker shock yet? :grinpimp: If you wanted to save some cash, you could do stock 60 knuckles, 8 lug outers, from junkyard. Then just get the housing, diff, and shafts through us. Youd have 8 lug, need bearings and seals. But you would have a little less spent all said and done.
Oh, and if you are curious, that 9", is better clearance than a prorock!
I think that would be somewhat self defeating. The strongest shafts you could get are below that of stock D60. On the other hand, from what others have said, the strength of the ring gear might become closer to that of the 30 spline shaft and birfs.
Brian - $7K!?!?! DAAYUM!!!
