Forgive me for some stupid questions. I am new to wrenching on Toyotas, or anything this indepth.

While working on the rig I noticed what looks like a crack in the Plenum. It is right outside where one of the bolts goes through the throttle body to mount it to the plenum.

Is it likely that this is indeed cracked or am I more likely seeing a mark from when it was cast. If it is cracked, can it be repaired or is time to throw it in the trash?

It can be a cast line or if its cracked just patch it up. You can use some silicone on it or whatever that will do the job...

How will spraying carb clenaer at 2K RPM tell me? What will I be looking for.

I understand the principle of soapy water on a pressurized vessel to determine the leak, but not the carb cleaner?

The carb cleaner will be sucked into the crack, if it is cracked, and the sound of the engine will change. You can also use an UNLIT propane torch.
