i have a 2nd gen toy with the front axle 4 forward. the rear springs are inboarded quite a bit like 6 in on each side maby over kill. my prob is that it is to lite in the rear to let the front fully flex i cheked on calcum for the rear only, but not shure if thait is a good idea (hard on axles). i do not have a bed and have doved on the frame in the rear any ideas i dont want a bunch of weight on this thing the wb is 106 in
I've got an idea! Use the PERIOD AND SHIFT KEYS!!! the period is located on the lower left just below and right of the L key. Post up some pics too, those always help.
sorry no pics and bad gramer not good on this thing. i need the front to be more stable but do not want the truck to weigh alot, thus what do u think on calcum in the rear tires only and or at all
how is lack of weight in the rear not letting the front flex? I think the problem is the rear flexes too easy compared to the front so the rear is maxing out its travel and not transfering any load to the front
I'd say take out one leaf from you front pack and see if that helps, if not maybe try taking another, but I'd be wary of that. It sounds like you have to strong of a spring up front.
From what I understand, water in the tires won't balance very well. Zags here on the board is running water in the tires, and says he notices it offroad when he is bombing to and from the trail.
Had to address this when building the formula toy. You should be able to run a pretty stiff pack in the rear and still get the same amount of flex. You can also remove a leaf from the front. Your just going to have to try out differnt combo's till you find that sweet spot you like. Unspung weight in the rear is not really going to help your flex issue, however it will help keep that axel on the ground and provide more traction. Weather or not the additional weight or mass the axel is turning will have negative effects on the rear axles depends on the total weight of the vehicle. Are we talking about a stock pick-up, not tubed out in the rear? Running 35's or 40's with the lighter tires 50-75lbs per tire might be ok. Running 40's I probably wouldnt try it with out cromo's in there.
