Just a guess here... make sure the air induction system between the air filter and the throttle body isn't leaking (actually allowing extra air to leak in...) I don't know just an idea. I had a 88 VW GTi that did this, and I replaced the plastic intake hose... problem went away.

Have you replaced the fuel filter recently?
I've seen them give people fits.

pull the hose, turn it over and see if gas comes out.

your very informative reply has been noted. I think this is the same type of logic you used to draw your conclusion.

Place banana in your ear.
Observe that there is no alligators around.
Conclude bananas placed in ears keep aligators away.

Generally,if its a tp sensor,it will have the
problem at the same throttle position no matter what gear or speed you are at. a cracked hose between the meter and throttle body is common,(It will crack on the bottom)
That feels more like no power when accelerating and a rough idle. What you are describing sound more like spark plug wires.
They will make the truck buck and jerk under load (accelerating) but may feel O.K. the rest of the time. A fuel pressure problem will feel like a smooth loss of power, rarely
does it make the vehicle feel jerky. good luck <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I have a header, and free flow exhaust and my truck is a dawg up to 3,000 not hesitant just no power. but after 3,000 it runs like a raped ape. i think if i put a cam in it it will help my bottem end out some. btw i have a fuel 1 tooth richer and enough timing but not sure on how much.

This is the routine for a carb'd vehicle, not EFI. There is a depressurization procedure . Follow the manual.
