OK, I know very little about Toyota, so flame away at my ignorance. Here's the deal. I have the opportunity to buy one of the following rigs. Rig #1 is an 84 Toyota pickup with Longfield axles, Detroits front and rear, 377 SBC stroker, TH350 tranny, 4.10 gears in V6 axles. Rig #2 is an 87 4Runner with an SAS, 5.29 gears, welded rear, locked front, 5 to 1 gears in the transfer case, crossover/hysteer, bobbed with 4 cyl axles. The drivetrain is a 4 cyl/5 speed. Now I know that there's not much difference between the 4 cyl and V6 axles.
If given the choice, which rig would you guys get? Each one has advantages and disadvantages, depending on how you look at them. I'm going to be running local trails in Ohio which I don't know much about yet. I can't afford both, so that's out of the question. Any advice would be helpful.
