I don't if this question was ever asked before, but anyway. I'm considering a carb upgrade for my 82' yota and can't choose. I'll go with either the Holley 350 kit that Downey sells or a weber 38, but which is the better chose and why?. Any input would be great thanks!!.
Either one of those is a lot of carb for a stock engine. Are you doing anything else to it?
I've got a holley 500 2bbl on mine with some minor mods and it rocks off road. The only time it floods is when the truck is sitting near vertical on the rear and leaning towards the passenger side. I usually just keep my foot in it when I'm in that situation anyway. I had a weber 32/36 on a mildly built 22r and it did ok most of the time but when the road got really bumpy, it would surge. I never messed with the float level though. That might have cured that problem.
