Sorry for the newb question but I just bought a yota with 27 spline longfields and chromo inners and was wondering how much weaker they are then the new 30 spliners. Im running duel cases, 37's, 5:29's and a 22re. Would it be worth it to upgrade to 30 splines or should these be fine. I tend to have a heavy right foot. Thanks
beat on them until the shafts break. The longfields will still be fine and you can resell them for just as much as you could now. 30 spls, move the weak link somewhere else.
agreed with wilson. just beat on them. ive been running them for i think 2 years now. i havent broken them yet. i only have 37s but still. just run them and then upgrade when need be. they'll hold there own for awhile.
i am running 39.5 /17 iroks on 27 spline chromoly birfs and shafts. Been throught several ring and pinions, finally started to crack the cage in the first set of chromoly birfs, but the 27 spline chromoly shafts are still holding strong. I would run what you got...
Yeah. my 27 splines are holding up fine. The inner axle shaft on the short side is starting to twist, and now I can't get the axle seperated. 5 Years of flogging, gonna get my 30 splines soon. 39.5x15x15.
