So I rolled my 86 Runner and when is got back on it's feet it wouldn't run for crap. I could keep it running long enough to get it back into the shop at high RPMs but now it won't stay running at all. So I read the codes and it gives me a code 11. No signal from Throttle position sensor. I first replaced all the grounds on the battery thinking something got yanked in the roll. Didn't fix it. Then checked the TPS wiring with a test light. one pin read constant ground, the other read ground with ignition off and nothing with ignition on. At no point did I get any positive voltage from any terminal. So I check the wiring at the ECM in the cab. No positive there either but a good body ground.
What is the proper procedure for testing this issue and how could a rollover cause a TPS to stop sending a signal?
I could throw 140 bucks away on a new sensor but really don't see that being the problem at his point.
Any ideas?
