'82 Toy with a '94 22RE using the stock tank with an inline electric pump. Have had zero issues in close to two years running this set-up until now. Went out wheeling on the fourth and after a bit, any time I put the truck nose high it would die. It would restart and idle perfectly for several seconds then die again. While it was idling if I put any pressure on the throttle it would die. On flat ground and nose down terrain it ran great.
I figured it was either: A problem with the pick-up tube in the tank.
The pump going south.
Fuel filter.
I've been waiting for a day off to look into it. I drove it to work the last two days with no problems, until this afternoon...An older gentleman pulled in with a flat on his trailer and I went to air it up with my OBA, I left my truck running and ran the electric compressor for about four minutes...then the truck died and will only restart, idle for a few seconds, then die.
I'm now wondering if I have an electrical gremlin? About a month ago my voltage regular went out and cooked the alternator and the battery...is it possible it damaged the fuel pump? the main wire for the pump comes directly off the battery.
Thanks for any insight.
