This is why it is so important to be involved however you can. I have noticed a drop off in RTF Donations for the FAQ, if you don't have the PDF copy of the FAQ, please consider donating the $10 to get the link. It has all of the info in one doc, it's the old version before Rick cleaned it up and made it a link source.
Please keep the donations coming. If you want the $10 to go somewhere else, that's cool, just pr0ovide me with the docs to back it up in a pm, and i will still provide a link to the faq.
In other words, if you want the $10 or more to go to FOF, no prob, send it to them, and pm me a copy of the transaction.
As long as donations are to organizations that fight for us, it's all good!

Subject: [FOTR] Trek Cancelled
Wow, Sierra Trek has been cancelled for this year due to fire issues. My goodness. This is big news. First time that I know of. And certainly a heart-breaker for the Association. Trek is the biggest fund raiser of the year for Cal4.
It was set for August 9-12. Our FOTR work weekend is the Aug. 18-19 weekend. Hey, maybe we can do something to help out the Association and combine something with our event? Hmmm, just thinking out loud. CA4WDC has been working on the Rubicon Trail since the 1980's that I know of personally. And they have been strong in presence in FOTR since we started. And we even have the President (Don Spuhler) showing up on work weekends to get dirty and wield a shovel (or pry bar, or log roller, or cable, or chain, etc.). J
Not only did I mirror it on our forum (http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=35130.0), but I also printed out 30 copies of it and handed it to club members of last nights Four Wheel Drive Club of Fresno meeting (one of the largest 4WD clubs in the world, and I believe the 2nd oldest club ever formed!). It is a great club to be a member and participant for.
blane525 and I might be able to make it to one of the meetings, but it'll be hard considering its on a weekday night that is about a 4-5hr drive away for us..
Can we start a list of organizations people could join to help save trails? Not only local, single trail groups, but also national groups.
I know of the BlueRibbon Coalition already, and will be joining today, but I'd like to get involved with more groups as we see at least one or two GREAT areas closed a month. I also know there are a few groups here in the Midwest but I can't remember their names off the top of my head.
I missed the sticky, TTT, we all need to get involved because it is happening with or without our input, make sure to write a letter, donate $10 here or there, do something to keep the trails open!!!!!
