Hi,

we have all seen that mechanics look up the labor hours for a job, like the book will say 3 hours to do a water pump. I have seen them use CD's.

I want that information at my fingertips!

What are the names of the most popular auto labor hours guides????

Chilton Labor Guide its about 150$ I use it at my shop

Motor's labor guide is another common one. Its allways good to have two references becasue labor times vary between the two.http://www.motor.com/

When i was looking for wiring diagrams for my efi 22re all data gave me wrong diagrams

We have mitchell in our shop. You deffinitly need 2 source's for checking labor though.

They are the worst for labor times--they can blow me-----not literally of course

Thats why I said you need 2 source's. Seem's the times are getting less and less over the years as well

They have Mitchell at the San Bernadino County libraries on the computers there, and it's free (you just have to get a card) but I heard that only one person in the entire network can use it at a time. I've used it three or four times in the afternoon and not had a problem yet. The OC county librariy might be worth a look.
