Help installing Pitman Arm on IFS 89 4runner

I installed a new idler and pitman arm on my 89 ifs 4runner and now my steering wheel is not straight. The truck doesn't pull, it's just the steering wheel isn't straight, and I can't get full turn to the left. My question is, should I install the arm onto the steering box first and then the relay rod, or onto the relay rod first and then try to line up the arm on the splines? Thanks, Eric

re-install pitman arm on splines and check wheel if it's straight...

There is a witness mark on both the pitman arm and the sector shaft that need to be lined up. The steering wheel still might not line up. When you replace parts on an IFS you should take it and get it aligned. Tell them to center the steering wheel.

grind the splines off the sector shaft, center the steering wheel with the front toed out 2", tack the pitman to the shaft and you're golden. if that don't work, take it to the dealer and they'll take care of you.

i'm sorry for hurting your feelings. but why do you have to go and tell me that it wasn't funny? thats just not nice.
as for OOPS, my mom and sister were killed by a drunk driver a few years ago, i have no brother, and my cousins don't turn me on. i wasn't talking shit to anyone here, just playing around. i didn't realize this site was for hardcore seriousness.

because most high school kids know how to properly install a pitman arm. if smart ass comments to stupid questions offend you, don't post stupid questions on pirate.
