Yep, Johnny Joint

Steel sleeved bushing... forgot the one but it came from Poly Performance and fits inside a 1.75 DOM tube

Broke up at TSF in the Crushers this weekend.

This netted me three wheel drive. I felt like a fancy man with a ARB in the rear who wasnt smart enough to engage it.

You can check out this thread to get the whole story and the tech behind this problem.

So I have been burning fuel this summer.... check out the PNW region section for run pics if interested (most have been documented)

Broke my hydro assist clamp and band aid fixed it multiple times. After tearing it completely off the steering rod I welded it on solid this time.

Also seen this....

Now I either have front axle wrap to beat the band or I hooked the front axle on a big rock in a reverse maneuver. Either way I need to keep a close eye on this. I plan on hitting the bare steel spots on the drive line and on the frame with a marker or paint to see if it happens again.

Maybe I should stop playing "follow the leader" with my friends in their buggies?

when i first got my rig the po had some weird off brand wicked tall springs on it and the front d shaft had a stupid steep angle and hit in all same places as shown on yours but had rubbed soooo much it went through and contacted the pinion flange surface. .
yours didnt seem to hit all that bad, but some slight shaving with a dremel tool may solve it or a anti wrap on the front (if you don't have it already i don't recall) it is caused by excess droop and or axle wrap tho like you said. most likely a combo of both.
im sure you already know this but i like to think i can help people sometimes. ha.

Whats the deal with the washers on the case cross member? What thickness wall did you use for the square tubing?

They are there to allow wiggle room for the T case once it is removed. Very hard to pull the splined cases apart when you have a mount that is horizontal instead of vertical.

I don't remember on the steel size. I may have mentioned it earlier in the thread when I built it.

No, but am considering them now if this problem persists.

Back from another run at Swartz... check out more pics and vid here if interested..

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...3#post14799213

These leafs are really getting on my nerves... I have been running my bent rear pack on the drive side but now I put my pass side rear through the wringer....

As for the front... my "check it to see if it happens again" marks show that I have axle wrap enough to put the shackle into the frame and bind the front joint in the driveline.....

Why are you assuming wrap? Scratch marks on the frame read articulation/ bushing issues to me. Ujoints read similar (need limit straps). I ran straps to save my leafs. Overwork them and bad stuff can/ will happen. Most that I see running straps with leafs do so to save the shock, I will also argue that is the wrong approach. As for your rears.... Probably time to link

I know there is no video with audio but I swear I can hear those axles screaming bloody murder in the background. Also some laughing more than likely from the HP60. ;-)

Built tons are a must if you are going to run those. They laugh at toy axles and spit out little metal pieces.

All that traction might be unsafe with bent leaf's. I'll hold on to them for a while, my rigs not running yet, don't worry

No, the bushings are good.

My front axle is walking so far forward that it is doing that to the frame with the shackle and binding my front drive line.
