How much does a 22R weigh?

I gotta ship one, it's all crated and ready to go. But I need a weight to get a shipping cost to the buyer BEFORE I take it to the Forward Air terminal. It's pretty complete, includes the intake & carb, alternator, fan, but no PS or AC parts. I searched, can't find it.

Any idea? I was guessing 350 lbs?

Toyota 18R-20R-22R 315 lbs

350 sounds about right, since this weight could be sans accessories.

Thanks guys. I think I'll go with 400 lbs, it should be close enough.

FYI... the final weight was 347 lbs. Here's a pic just before I sealed up the crate:

I made a "cradle" out of scrap PT 5/4" decking material, I used a crate that I got from a glass shop that they ship windshields in. I had to cut it down quite a bit, but the cardboard was very solid, good stuff (4 layers). Then I stopped at a local lumberyard and paid a kid out in the yard $10 to put a bunch of straps around it. Was a lot of work, but seems to be working great.

Oh yeah... shipping via Forward Air from BOS to SLC was $154.10. Thought this might be useful info for someone.

I found a thread on 4x4wire. Guy said 240 pounds without oil pan or pickup. Here you go. On the first page of Bing no less. http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showfl...56&Main=671776

I doubt it because I carried a bare engine block (no crankshaft, no pistons, no head, no timing chain cover) up and down from my basement and I lifted the bare short block in to the customers truck
i have someone in new mexico requesting for me to ship them a bare 22re short block so I need a shipping estimate - I have my own scale and I will post here with results but I have to get it out of storage etc

Are you asking for just the block or shortblock? A 22R minus head and intake is gonna weigh every bit of 200 pounds I'd think. Send a PM Davez, he ships them pretty regularly.

Every spec sheet I have seen, listed a 22RE as 348 pounds. I believe that is sans accessories, but as a long block.
