22r torque specs
hay uall i need to know what the torque specs are for the main and rod caps on a 84ish 22r

Dude if you're all the way down to that part of your engine rebuild, you really should have a manual, just my 2 cents. good luck lol

im not rebuilding it just ting it back together to try to get buy till i get my other1 rebuilt I'm just redoing the rod barrings it spun 1

Dude he's wrong. 43 FT LBS is for 85+ blocks, you have an 84 block, rod cap is 46 FT LBS, and main bearing cap is 76 FT LBS.

hell it don't much matter my crank is scared some I'm going to polish it with some emery cloth and get it smooth but I'm not expecting it to work for long but hell it mite last the rest of the year or it mite spin as soon as i start it never know its 20 bucks what the hell but thx man ill atlest get it the tite enuff

It does'nt matter......once the bearing spins in the rod , the rod is shot, it only takes one knock.
I have shimmed the bottom bearing shell back, with a beer can skin cut to size, lasted about two weeks, 20yrs ago ![]() Kiwi |

I'm going to try it i though about changing the rod cap off another moter i got that has a spun bearing also

i guess #3 rod had spun already from my spare block and i didn't know. That's why it was seizing on #3 the whole time

My parts truck was claimed to have a bad bottom end when I picked it up and I was excited to try and run it until it blew a rod through the side of the block...unfortunately it was just a bad head gasket and cracked exhaust manifold. Still managed to get ~20 miles blowing smoke until it lost compression and would no longer run/start
