Which port is front brakes and which is the rear? Puting a 1993 V6 master cylinder on my FJ55 and was wondering which port was which on the master cylinder was which before I hooked them up. Thanks!

The front port goes the the front brakes and the rear goes to the rear.

I put a 1995 4runner M/C on a 1976 FJ55 and that is the way I did it. It works perfectly with 4 wheel discs, you may have different performance with drums. You will have the change the fittings on your 55 brakes lines tho. The fittings are different.

WTF is this supposed to mean, this is a dumb ass attempt at being a smartass. This was a very legit question in my opinion.

If you feel that. But I think anyone can spend 5 minutes under the hood tracing the lines to confirm where they go.

To each his own. And yes, I was trying to be funny. Even he posted "tuesday" below his post. I'm sure he took my joke just as lightly because I sense he's a guy that can laugh. Just in a comedy mood today, sorry if you're not in a good mood today.

He asked which port on a new MC he was putting on was for the front brakes and which was for the rear. Not which lines went where. So your answer still sucks.

Bad mood, I am not in a bad mood, how could I be I am retired with a good pension and collecting my S.S.I. and I have a beautiful wife and grandkids. I can go wheeling any time I want to or take a trip on my H-D. Life is good and I am happy, joyous, and free.

Right on, Oops. Sounds like you're set.
My apologies to both you and the OP.
Take it easy.

For anyone else searching in the future, Toyotas are opposite of GM masters.

Toyota: front to front; rear to rear

GM: Front to rear, rear to front.

I ran a chevy m/c plumbed "backwards" with 4-wheel dics and it worked perfectly. The M/C I used for a dics/drum set-up. The purportion front to rear was perfect.

Not all GM masters are plumbed that way.

And it doesn't make much difference which port goes where anyway in actual use, as the poster above found out (although it has NOTHING to do with proportioning).

I plumbed it the "right" way first and it was locking up the rear tires very easily. I switched them and now the front lock up first but only a split second before the rears.

That's the point of me plumbing it the opposite way. Now the front gets the pressure it needs and so does the rear. If you plumb a chevy M/C "backwards" everything is proportioned the way it needs to be.
