Well, after the short wheeling trip saturday, the life of my Trekker has came to an end.
Its still fixable, but not worth fixing. Time to concentrate on building the extracab.
2 broken birfs, broken tail light, pretzeled drag link (stock steering) blew beads on 1 tire, broke winch cable twice (unloading truck from trailer) Overheated engine alot. So, its getting disassembled and parts going to the Sami
Sounds like a good day on the trail, not a reason to scrap a good trekker. Birfs and tie rods are just high wear items, so carry a few spares and keep wheeling.
Exactly. Winnabego cut the back of the cab out and built a fiberglass bed and top and added a rear seat. Its cool, but not good for the trail in my opinion. A flatbedded toyota extracab with 107" WB and 38.5" SXs is better :flipoff2:

Should have had Superbirfs and Hysteer in the first place. Mud sucks, I'll take rocks and sunshine anyday.
there are plenty of rocks to be had in tillamook state forest, it was one area that was muddy in the trail, like 10'x10' and about 3' deep it was the kill of the day becase once you got right past it there was a vertical wall and he broke his 1st birf turnin around to winch me out
Definitely sounds too cool and too much of an oddity to abandon after a couple busted birf's. I'll have to keep my eye out for them running around town.
the only problem wilson is the ass end is all fiberglass, i mean all fiber glass not just the top, so it takes one good hit and there aint no poppin it out, they are cool but not very functional in our area
My plan it to try to sell the body (see forsale section). If It doesnt sell, I will put on some 33s, 2" lift, 22R, ect.. and have it for a daily driver.
The axles under it currently are going into my sami.
This is my old/new project. It has basically been sitting for 1 1/2 years with a little progression. Now it gets my full attention.
Last night I cut the front fenders to clear the 38.5 SXs on 2.5" BS wheels.
I need to get my carb back, get a radiator, assemble the rear end, and get hysteer and it will be drivable.
