I plan on putting an old Mazda truck body on an 84 Toy frame. I plan on 38.5x16-15 M/T Baja Claws Will the 5 speed, and 22r push the tires at decent speeds. Should 5.29s be the ratio of choice. The truck will be a daily driver, and I am just worried if the tires will be too much to push around town. Any help would be great. Thanks
I like the body. It was my 1st P-U. It is solid, and straight. Plus it will be original. And I have the Toy frame, and the Mazda body, but no Toy body. It is a matter of parts I have.
Since 5.29s are the correct gearing for 35's, sure, 5.71s would be preferable. But you are pushing around a hell of alot more weight with that setup, so as the other guys mentioned, you're gonna have to get used to being slow. But it can be done
