I¡¯m buying a rebuilt 3.0 for my 4Runner for the thrifty price of $2250.00, which includes shipping, and a 3 year 60k mile warranty. By the way, the reason for the 3.0 instead of the 3.4 is that it¡¯ my moms and it has an automatic, which makes it a big pain in the ass to convert.
The question for you all, who have bought a rebuilt 3.0 for their toy, are most of these engine builders reputable? What things should I look for? Who did you buy from?
why would he have to work on it? Minimal maintenance and mine is still strong at 138,000 miles, a good friend has one at over 200,000 and its still fine as well. The headgasket issue was a factory problem, any rebuilt unit should not have any problems, just like anyone that was fixed from Toyota shouldn't have any more problems.
BTW thats not a bad price from what I've seen, mostly in the 3K range for a rebuilt.
GOOD GOD JIM!! I'll build you one for 1500 with all factory parts! What do you want? Short block, long block, or the whole damn thing with plenum and all?

More of those guys are using their rigs as daily drivers and that really racks up the miles fast. Plus they are very helpful. If you don't it, I may do it for you because I would like to know too
