This weekend, the rubber stock t'case mount failed, even w/ the motor mounts chained. The C/V's knockin' on the crossmember every now and then
Priced out a NAPA replacement today at $114.75 and OEM from Toyota at $99.52
Anyway, I wondered if anyone has fabbed up one? I'm thinking about building one similar to a leaf spring eye/mount using standard bushings and 5/8's hardware.
Any thoughts, Comment's, or Suggestion's would be appreciated.
If you can keep the motor still the trans mount wont break. Stock motor mounts blow. Try Rockstompers or making some solid mounts. Many I know also solid mount the trans too. I use the said Rockstompers with two stock tran mounts on my duals. After breaking numerous stock motor mounts and trans mounts I have not busted a one since the switch.
My T-case mount wore out to the point that the bolt going through the center had a bunch of slop. I put a washer from a shock bolt on the bolt to help snug it up. Worked to finish out the weekend and few trips after that.
Also..
Toyota of San Bernardino has the T-Case for $70ish.

Do those rockstompers put a whole lot more vibration/noise into the cab? Do you also use a chain or anything, or was that it? I keep breaking mine too even with a chain, and those are looking like what i need to do.
Yes, They(rockstomper MM) transmit alot of vibes! I dont know if I would run them in a daily driver. But in my trail only rig they are great. My shifters still move around a bunch. I'm running two stock tcase mounts.
My 82 P/U is my daily driver(50-150 miles/day) and my rockcrawler. The Rockstompers do transmit vibration but I don't consider it excessive, I actually like it; makes everything feel more solid. My truck has always been loud and vibrated alot, it IS a rockcrawler.
Maybe one day I'll put a stereo in it but for now it makes it's own music.
Ha ha....nothing new. Was doing pipe layout drafting summers in high school
Stuff comes in handy.
