i'm stripping the cab on my 86 truck down so i cna put a new one on it, the current cab's got a perfect windsheild and i'd like to save it, what's the easiest way to get it out without breaking it??
Yeah it is! Mine was toast, so I just used a chisel and a hammer but most parts stores sell a piano wire kit to remove it. The stuff is tough and in the cold is hard as nails. It'd be worth it to have a  and have a glass business come over and watch them remove itcrash said:Man, good luck dave, that urothane glue they use is like bulletproof stuff, heck, your going to have an easier time sawzalling the sheetmetal off around the damn glass
Might be. I posted something about install in the Gen section and ended up PMing RockinK5 and here's what he sent me about installing one.DSI said:damn, sounds like it'd be easier to just get it replaced in the future when the one in teh new cab finally cracks all the way
Post up if you do the removal and install. If I don't chop mine up I might have to replace some glass. To be honest on 85 and up, your better off just paying for the install. Most guy's that do those trucks hate um'. So being your first I would not suggest it. Not to saying you can't, but I do it for a living and if I had a choice I would just pay the extra 85.00 and have it done.
hell yha! speed glass baby!crash said:Personally dave, If i were you I would cough up the coing and get the new windshield from rockstomper I beleive...
