Wanting to know if a universal high output ignition set-up, such as Jacobs or MSD helps at all on a 22R? I don't expect big horsepower gains, a little would be nice, as well as a cleaner and more efficient combustion. Anyone have some ideas on which ignition system works best for the 22R's? Oh by the way, thanks Pat and Coop 50 for helping me with my cooling problem. The radiator looked good but just didn't do its job, so I went out and got another one. Now it cools like it should!
good to hear on the cooling.. I have to be honest.. unless you are planning on running 10,000 rpm you wont' get much better ignition then stock toyota.. Not saying it might not be alittl better but not worth the money in my opinion.. I would spend the money on aset of gears or locker or something that makes a big differance
I was running a MSD 6A on my hybrid and overall, I might have seen 1mpg or less mileage increase and nothing notable as far as performance. Did smooth out the idle a bit though.
