for your ranger find your self a dana 44 and swap it out with that garbage suspension fit has(if you haven't already). My buddy did it and it came out pretty sweet. He did a 44 up front with a nine inch rear. I think those 44's off the later fords just sort of swaps right over.

Well update time. This thing needs some lovin' and i have barely had time to do anything with it. Since my last up date i finished bobing the bed (came out pretty shitty but what do you expect with a pre-dented bed) and some other minor things. I still have a laundry list of shit to do. On my way up to the mountain over thanksgiving weekend the power-steering idler pulley bearing seized right as alternator decided to take a hot steamy shit on me. Made for a cold hour long wait until my buddy Sam came with his truck and trailer to tow me home (thanks Sam your a true friend). I bought a new alternator from napa and ordered a new pulley bearing from Dave's (thanks Dave's you guys rock!). I also need to get some new exhaust studs. Im still getting an exhaust leak when the motor is cold after changing the manifold gasket. I cant afford headers so i might as well just try some newer longer studs. I want to go back and redo some pretty important stuff to. My front shackle angle looks like shit so im going to order some new frame jigs and move the tubes a little more forward. It probably didnt help that i welded the front spring hanger on about a 1/2" forward instead of flush vertically against the frame. Other than that it could use a front end rebuild on the axle. Its leaking grease like a sive. After i fix the shackle angle im going to try and get my self a solid alignment. Then ill be rocking and rolling and ready to do some snow wheelin'.

flush mounted front spring hanger i think i set shackle angle at 12 degrees on new leafs, then as they broke in they settled at 18 which is perfect. |

Shit, that looks like that mount town outside what I think was called FOB x or X ray, fucking one morning we got up and humped down and back there twice before someone learned to use a radio and had to go back again. I was packing the "combat ladder" what a piece of fuck couldn't even hold 200lbs. We broke 2 of them then before we said the hell with it and never got another out. I loved the rock formations and the UXO out there haha being a Illinois boy you don't get to see that much rock. I kept thinking damn I'd take my jeep up that shit! I had a fun time there, trigger time, did you do the 400 series ranges while you were there?
