Shop is finally clean and I started working on the truck. Calipers are ground and she rolls! Got the new thick wall tube cut and ready to weld to the cv and yoke for the rear. Also through the cab back on to get an idea of looks and I like it anyway I should get my tabs from wfo tomorrow and ill setup my ram and get the steering tacked together.

Had company over tonight so couldn't get much done but I did drill out the adapter for the cone filter and also found some 3/4" od pipe that is threaded perfectly for the steering column. This adds length and fills the inside of the speedway steering wheel disconnect for better welding top and bottom. Anyone else want one let me know I have access to more than plenty.

Driver side is all tacked in, I will start on the passenger side tomorrow, then seat tabs and sheet it with some thin gauge crap.

Here is what I came up with for my ram mount using 2x3 and .25 plate for the gussets and reinforcement. Ill cut this out and tack it all in this weekend.

So a buddy of mine mentioned my tunnel being attached cab floor to frame and being and issue. Would this be an issue since the rest of my cage is tied into the body and welded together? Granted the 4 body mounts are there but there is really nothing left of the cab, thoughts?

Had family over all weekend so I only got a few hours this afternoon to work gonna go finish weld a bunch of crap tonight after the baby is asleep. Looks like the others but I finished the passenger side seat mount and floor.

Also I finally got the ram tacked in. Need to cycle it a bunch and make sure it's good. Already tacked and removed and retacked several times so I think I'm good to go. Of course a truss and gussets will tie everything in.

I mountedmy ram similarly and it became my travel limiter due to oil pan interference. make sure and check that.

Yeah it's going to be close. The problem is if I angle it down or lower it then the rod clevis end smacks the diff. I am going to try and trim the brackets tacked on the tie rod down as much as possible and see how much that brings me in. I guess the next option is lower and angles up towards the ram?

Pics?

I think I can suck the ram at least 3/4" closer to the tie rod and the truss side tabs could go lower but I was really trying to keep the ram and tie rod parallel since that is what I have done on several setups now and it just plain works.

I did cycle the suspension when I got home and it should do fine the way it is with the high steer arms that are really meant for a double ended ram. I may try running the tie rod under the arms and that will bring the ram down also, that may be the key!

I dont see how your running the tie rod on bottom with leaf's? Leaf's will be in the way of the tie rod.

I run crossover on the stock arm's with Dodge knuckles. Tie rod is mid axle tube high and ran is right between the tube and tie rod.

If I can fit the tie rod maybe. My high steer arms seem way tall. They nwor ones that were on when I bought the axle. I think I'm stuck with the height though after looking at it closer and I think you are right.

I think you should lower it as much as possible. Especially if you want to jump that junk!

Why not just cut down the excess rectangular tube that's coming up off the axle, above the ram mount?

Negative ghost rider. You know you'll bomb down some forest roads. And the first time you take it down to the hammers it will be game over. Get as much up travel as you can... without killing your leaf springs

I would love to run the tie rod just under the springs but who ever had the axle before cut the stock ends of the knuckle. I am going to go home tonight and see if running the ram under the tie rod is an option.

I have 2x.25 on my tie rod with stock 1ton tierod's and its bent a few times. I replaced the tie rods 2 times in 6 year's and never had one fail just wear out. My tie rod is also exposed since I run standard crossover.

Yeah I read through that. I think if it is a trail only rig and in my case mimincal body then just rigid mount everything right? Can't vibrate any worse. Even with my exo it was pinned tight to the cab and fenders with no gab (metal on metal) and I could drive down the highway and never had an issue.

You may want the fittings on top of the ram, it helps bleed the system quite a bit, and the beveled block 90 fitting supposively cause cavitation/flow issues, The radiused ones restrict flow less and flow smoother. Both of these are per PSC's recommendations when I was redoing my full hydro system.
