Their closest location to you is probably Aurora -- not sure how close that might be... Almost all college campuses have machine shops as well. Just go there and ask. They will either direct you to a local supplier or just sell it to you direct.

when I was looking for tube, I found a large supplier in Indy.
The name is Ryerson and they quoted me 3.50/ft for 1.5" .120 DOM. That was now a while ago and it's probalby cheaper currently. Apparently the separate their facilities towards certain products and their tube is mostly out of indy. They also gave me the name of a local retailer in my area that gave me a great price too. They may give you the name of a local dealer who they sell a lot to. |

I just stumbled across this place http://alro.com/ Ive been shopping for some C channel and they beat the best price I have found by .19 cents per pound. they have a bunch of warehouses around the midwest. If nothing else thay have a great catalog with specifications.

I was referred to a local shop in the Quad Cities and wound up buying there. Was a little over $7/foot for 1.5"OD .25 wall. Thanks for the help everyone.
