Have a gap in the Jeep club schedule in the middle of April.

Anyone up for a Pirate member "Tax Evasion Trip" on April 15th at the Badlands?

Looks like they are closed from the 16th to the 22nd.

That would be excellent!

Starting a new job/career and may actually have the money to go without putting it on a card.

Just wanted to say whats up to anyone in Southern Illinois area. We are just outside STL. Other than the Flat Nasty, Moonlight, and the typical Southern Mo spots, we have some good local areas. Here is a shot of a private area in Colombia IL.

If anyone finds themselves in the area, hit me up - or if you need anything.

My shop is in Freeburg, IL (just outside Belleville) PM me for contact info

You will have a good time. Your wheelbase will suck if you hop on the bunny trail, but otherwise you shouldn't run into any issues. It is a fun place and we normally go twice a year.

Hop on the bunny trail? I don't follow... Why will the wheelbase suck? Turning radius or breakover?

Turning radius, there are a couple of hairpin turns that some of the Jeeps in my group have to pull 3 point turns on. These turns are about 1/2 way down a hill and have a good drop off to the low side. Only place that breakover may get you is if you try the waterfalls.

I think I'll take my chances. Been on some pretty tight turns in my day that people said a full size would never be able to do.

You should fit. If you aren't camping, I suggest Barton's Lodging for a good place to stay. May want to get a reservation in early as it will fill up quickly with float trippers.

The Bears are a fun climb. Hopefully I can master Papa Bear this year, have done both of the others a few times.

Those do look like fun. Wheelbase would both help and hurt it looks like. I'd be willing to at least try both - probably couldn't walk up as smoothly as you, it'd take a few tries.
