I'm registered - see some of you there. I was there last year. It was a really good event. I'm hoping to run 3-3.5 trails this year.

You can count me out, I think my bro as well. We do want to get everybody together though and do a badlands wheeling/camping weekend though. Just haven't got any plans together yet.

I think I may be stepping out this year, no jeep, too many divided parties etc. Had a good run for the past 5 though.

Too many divided parties for sure. Plus last year with all the Bullshit Drama over nothing, I just don't want to deal with that shit. Figure take a break from it this year and probably go again next year.

But anyway. Kurley would be fun to watch, might need a booster chair though!! It is a really good time, but by the time you add in the entry fee, lodging, and gas/diesel, it gets expensive quick. I still haven't said no for sure, but still leaning that way.

It has been way too long since we have wheeled together. The last time we did, I seem to remember a tree leaving you a permanent remider of it in your cowl/hood/fender That was way back with the yellow Jeep too! Man, it has been way too long.

I'll be putting that money towards my other runs this year. We've got Clayton, then Tennessee and then South Dakota scheduled for this summer.

I used to go, but dayum, you have to take out a loan just to go now. I will say the door prizes were always fantastic and the wheeling was pretty outstanding as well. Just to much dough for a weekend of wheeling. I am sure they have thier reasons, but I can damn near drive all the way to Harlan and wheel for the same price.

In all fairness, they don't feed you at EJS either.

I guess everybody has their own opinion, but this is an 'event' and not a do-it-yourself trip to your local offroad park. To me it is cool to be able to head out to new places that aren't public. The event has been the best one that I have attended. The Safari from last year was well-run, lots of good guides, and well-organized. The guides really went the extra mile to help people out and they're also very knowledgeable and safety-conscious. To me it is a good value and I am driving a few hours to get there and paying hotel as well. The entry fee is not even my biggest expense.

I am one of the volunteers for the events and one of the businesses that donates stuff for the raffles and I respect your opinions, I know money is tight.
You can thank the lawyers and insurance companies for the cost of the fees. Over the years the insurance cost to cover all those that attend and the land owners has done nothing but go up, the club does not make any profit off of the events. As was said earlier this is an event not a trip to the offroad park, if there are complaints or ideas to help us to make these events better without adding cost please let us know.

I think the option for passing on the food would be a good idea. Don't get me wrong, the food is decent and all, but $8 per meal? I rather get my own food and just show up for the raffle, etc. afterward.
Edit: And if I remember right, there was a certain lawyer that caused a not-so-slight increase in the insurance bill for the club...
