PFW's Jeepster
It is getting closer, but still a ways to go.
Got the body lined up on the frame, had to cut out the firewall and some big holes in the floor to get it fit over the drivetrain. So the next step is to fill in the holes and fab a new firewall. Some of the specs are: *421 stroker SBC running on propane *SM465 *Atlas 4.3 *Shaved D60 front w/35spline outers, detroit, behind axle hydro steering *Shaved 14 bolt rear C&C axle, detroit, disc brakes, steering brakes *Front SOA with shackle reverse and 50" Alcan Springs *Rear, double tri 4 link, 1/4 elliptical Alcan Springs with air bags *102" wheelbase *42" swampers on H1 internal beadlock wheels This is basically my old rock crawler with a "new" look. ![]()

Camando
Awsome Camando Jeepster. We had one of those Jeepsters for years. My dad sold it in 1985 and he bought an 1985 Scrambler brand new. Then sold that in 1995 and bought a 3500 Dogde diesel. 2 great rigs, both sold for something better...or so we thought. Now we both wish he had them both. Good luck with completeing your project. Come over to Maui and hook up with Keha, Kekoa, Doug and I for some wheeling. Aloha

It's been about 12 years since I bought them, I don't remember the cost. Check with Alcan Spring. You can also make some, done it a few times using GM 63" spring packs.

Can yu get a shot down the side? It looks like you H1's are not recentered. I would like to see how much your tires stick out.

No, they are not re-centered, it was a bunch of work getting them to clear the steering but I wanted it to be narrow enough to fab some fender to cover them without it looking too dumb. The rears stick out 6" and the front close to 9",,,the rear axle is a Cab & Chassis 14bolt so it is only 63" wide BWS so that helps a lot. I'll get a pic for you when I get back to the shop (maybe sunday).
