What's up keha? How u doing? For the drive train I'm going full Toyota, dual transfer cases, and a 22re. Might just end up with the hood of the Sammy by the time I'm done but. We'll see. As for my truck. The caged did it's job very well. No real body damage. Just flat spotted the passenger leaf spring. But it was about time to tear it down n do some maintenance and up grades.

For now I'm running the yj's but I think the spring rate may be to soft. But I'll just have to wait and see. Thinking about linking the rear. Not sure yet.

I get most of my metal from Borsma steel. I use 1 1/4" black pipe. It's half the cost of tubing and holds up just fine for what we do here. But if u got the $ for DOM. Go for it.

Another slow week for the samurai. finally got all the parts and hardware together for the front axle. but thats what I get for buying it in pieces. You know those 5 gallon buckets you keep under your house for years? Yah, spent the week digging threw those.

Oh yah new calipers, brake pads and resurfaced the 27 year old rotors.

Nice work. Where you at on Oahu?? I'm over on the eastside. I'm getting ready to redo my Toy in the next month or two. I have lots on my to do list but a cab swap in the first thing on the list. Next is a front Diamond, my front axle is fawked from welding the gussets on. I can barely get the long side shaft in.

I live Kaneohe. Did the axle bend or get warped by heat?

I live Enchanted Lake side. It's warped from the heat and I tend to be a tad rough on my vehicles.

the rear on your truck doesnt flex very much? looks like a home brew leaf pak...what are you running?

Im about to put the Marlin gusset kit on my axle...I think read some where about how to weld w/o warping the axle... Ive gotta find that again cause that would suck. What would you do different so it wouldnt warp?
and how do you like your Iroks? looks like the 36x13.50/15r radial?
Ok no more ?s lol

Nice! Shit I've fully welded both my gussets on and no warpage. I jus kept most of the heat on the gusset and not the axle. Waikane this Sunday!

Just stitch weld it if your worried about warping. Do 2" beads every 4" and let the axle cool between beads. No way you'll warp it.

You put ANY heat with a welder into a toy axle you WILL warp it. Check out surftacos homebrew front end build. My springs front and rear are Marlin 4" I set the rear shackle angle up steep hoping it would be perfect when they settled but they haven't settled much if any. I will be redoing the rear when I do my cab swap in the next few months.
