Looking for DOM in Las Vegas - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

I've recently moved to Las Vegas and am looking for a good place for DOM.
I've heard of Superior pipe and supply, but am looking for others for price comparisons.

Looking mainly for 1 5/8" .120 wall, around 150'-200'. Superior quoted $4.40/ft

Not sure if this helps cause I live in NorCal but 1.75 120 wall DOM goes for $3.30 ft. Make some phone calls to some of the metal fabbers in the area and see what they can get it for. I am sure you can find cheaper.

MetalFast( also known as Copper and Brass Sales) sell and stock DOM, as well as HREW and aluminum. They also give bulk buy deals.

Curtis Steel has DOM as well, but they usually have to order it in for you.

Where are you getting if I may ask. Up here in Reno they're asking for around $7.00/foot.

I used to buy at Metal Crafters Warehouse in Sac for $2.85/ft for .120wall 1-5/8DOM. IIRC they were around $2.50/ft for 1.5" DOM. But that was over a year ago(over inflated economy now). They're kind of a small outfit but they always had tube in stock and alot of odd sizes too, plus they discount in bulk. Really a good company to buy from, in my opinion. Might be worth the drive?

Thanks Mike, I'll try Metalfast, Curtis Steel seemed a little high when I called them so I didn't post them up originally.

hate to hijack your thread, but DOM and HREW is way too pricey here in Reno. If its 3.30/ft in sac, ill haul a trailer over the hill.

Steel supply place its right near spagetti bowl by down town and industrial you can see it on the right side heading north bound 95 its also next to a concrete place. Its a train wreck to get to but has the best prices in the valley... Also the day laborers are literally jumping into your car for work.. Granted I am going back over 5 years so not sure if its still around.

I went through the book and called several of the steel shops. NONE stocked DOM! All were special orders and none of them got back to me with the quotes I asked for. There is a couple of speed shops so I have been told that stock it. I had to pay a rediculous price for a 6' stick of .120 wall from Mc Faddendales in order to finish my bumper.

The name is Steel Engineers. Thats where i got all my stuff from. Decent $ too.

Superior is the best bet in town IMHO.

economy steel is the best prices and curtis is the best price/selection both places are less than 4.40ft i think 1.5 .120 cold rolled is $20 for a 20ft stick from memory.

steel engineers is the most expensive place in town... i'm in the carpenters union and can't afford that union price...

I've got about 12" of .120 wall 1.75", I ended up getting it from FU2 over in Ridgecrest CA
